Max Levinson

Max Levinson's career was launched when he won the First Prize at the Guardian Dublin International Piano Competition, the first American to achieve this distinction. He has been awarded the Avery Fischer Career Grant, and most recently he received the 2005 Andrew Wolf Award for his chamber music performances.

He has performed as soloist with the San Francisco Symphony, the St. Louis Symphony, the Baltimore Symphony, the Los Angles Philharmonic, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and the Utah Symphony, among others. He has collaborated with some of the world's finest chamber music ensembles, such as the Tokay String Quartet, the Vermeer Quartet and the Mendelssohn Quartet, and with such internationally known artists as Richard Stoltzman, Pinchas Zukerman and Joseph Silverstein.

Mr. Levinson is on the faculty of the New England Conservatory in Boston and is married to cellist Allison Eldredge who performed with the Midcoast Symphony in the 2006-2007 season.
