Rehearsing: behind the scenes
Ever wonder how we prepare the music for our concerts?
The MSO musicians usually get the music 6-8 weeks before performance, which we learn by individual practicing at home. We also listen to recordings, to hear how our own parts fit into the pieces we will play.
And we rehearse together every week from early September until our May concerts, with time off after concert weekends and the winter holidays.
