Open Rehearsal On Stage at Orion
Join us at 1:30pm on Sunday, May 18 - starting one hour before the concert at Orion - as Music Director Rohan Smith will illuminate the process of bringing concert pieces to life with the help of MSO musicians.
Audience members are invited to join us on stage for a brief open rehearsal of a portion of one piece to be performed in “Ethereal Weaves of Air.” During this event, Maestro Smith will share insights on how he prepared to conduct this piece as well as modeling how he communicates his thoughts on tempo and rhythm to the MSO musicians.
The open rehearsal includes a small section of the orchestra and seating is limited, so audience members are encouraged to arrive promptly at 1:30 for this event, which is part of the “More with Midcoast” series and is free for ticket holders to the concert. Audience members who attend the open rehearsal will be able to secure seats in the auditorium before joining the musicians on stage.
