Curtis Memorial Library, Brunswick (Morrell Meeting Room)
The Midcoast Symphony Orchestra’s Buttonwood Ensemble will present Beethoven’s Piano Trio in E-flat, Op. 1 no 1; Joan Tower, Big Sky (piano trio); and Gabriel Faure, Piano Quartet no.2. The musicians will introduce each piece with some contextual information about the composer and the piece to enhance the audience’s appreciation of the artistry behind the music.
Tuesday, May 5 at 5:30pm - MSO Brass Quintet
Lewiston Public Library (Callahan Hall)
The Midcoast Symphony Brass Quintet will play classical favorites, including a sneak preview of the Midcoast Symphony Orchestra’s upcoming performance of Mahler’s second symphony. The musicians will also share fun facts about their instruments and background information on the pieces they are playing.
