Family-Friendly Concerts
The second program of MSO's 35th season features short pieces by well-known composers and a number of components showcasing students, with our popular Meet the Instruments event before both performances.
Saturday, Jan 18 at 7pm - Franco Center in Lewiston
with Meet the Instruments at 6pm
Sunday, Jan 19 at 2:30pm - Orion Performing Arts Center in Topsham
with Meet the Instruments at 1:30pm
The concerts are designed to appeal to young audience members, with a number of short family-friendly pieces including selections from Handel’s Water Music and Duke Ellington’s The River Suite; the winner of the Judith Elser Concerto Competition; a piece conducted by a Lewiston High School alumnus; and artwork by local students.
Both concerts will also be preceded by our annual Meet the Instruments, where people of all ages can try orchestral instruments.
Individual tickets for “Invigorating Water Music” are $25 in advance and $30 at the door, with free entrance to any audience member 25 and under. Adults who bring children to one of these concerts may also be eligible for free tickets (fill out form at this link.)
