Rielle Auclair

Cello
My name is Rielle and I’m originally from Wellesley, MA. I have two sisters who also play two instruments each (piano and flute, and piano and gayageum). They no longer play music. My mom taught me piano and violin at ages 3 and 11 respectively, while my dad exposed us to classical music including ballet and opera. Growing up in different countries due to my dad’s job, the only thing consistent was music.
I was a nurse for 2 years after college before joining the Army (not as a nurse). After 3 deployments, I decided to start playing again, and picked up the cello. Its deeper sound grounded me when I needed it the most. While stationed in Colorado I played with the Denver Pops Orchestra, took lessons, and played in a six-cello choir and a chamber music group.
I live with a 12 year old Shiba Inu, like reading (mostly nonfiction but some fiction), checking out new restaurants and bars, travelling, and listening to other people’s ideas and experiences.
