Jeanie Wester
Viola
Jeanie Wester has performed for many years as a violist in Maine with the Bangor Symphony, Maine State Ballet Orchestra, Maine Chamber Ensemble, Maine Music Society, and Maine Pro Musica. Before moving to Maine she played with symphony orchestras in Ohio and New Jersey. Jeanie has performed both on violin and viola in many musical pit orchestras in southern and central Maine, and she's a long-term member of the Southern Maine String Quartet.
She teaches violin, viola, and piano in Yarmouth and on Chebeague Island. Also known for her work with non-profits she has worked with the Brunswick Regional Youth Orchestra, now the Maine Youth Orchestra, and the LARK Society for Chamber Music, now the Portland String Quartet Society.
Educated as a Chemist with a BS from Wittenburg University and a Masters from the University of Maine in Environmental Chemistry, Jeanie also makes time to volunteer with Friends of Casco Bay. She has 4 children and 2 grandchildren.
